COASTSWEEP at Scusset Beach

The New England Coastal Wildlife Alliance (NECWA at www.necwa.org), in conjunction with Captain John Whale Watching and Fishing Tours (www.captjohn.com) participates in beach cleanups that are part of  COASTSWEEP (www.coastsweep.umb.edu), the Commonwealth’s annual coastal cleanup program, organized by the Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management and the Urban Harbors Institute of the University of Massachusetts Boston.  This year, NECWA and Captain John Boats will be participating in a COASTSWEEP cleanup at Scusset Beach located within the Scusset Beach State Reservation. This beach cleanup date is scheduled for Saturday, October 23, 2010 from 9 am – 11 am.  Our rain date will be Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 9 am until 11 am.  For additional information, please contact Dominica Webster at 765-610-9882 or Krill Carson at 508-566-0009. COASTSWEEP 2010

COASTSWEEP, the state-wide beach cleanup sponsored by CZM and the UHI, will kick off its 23rd year on September 25. Volunteers throughout Massachusetts turn out in large numbers each year for this event, which is part of an international campaign organized by The Ocean Conservancy in Washington, DC. Participants all over the world collect marine debris and record what they find. This information is then used to help reduce future marine debris problems. COASTSWEEP Massachusetts

COASTSWEEP, the state-wide beach cleanup sponsored by the Massachuseets Office of Coastal Zone Management (CZM) and the Urban Harbors Institute at UMass Boston, will kick off its 22nd year on September 19 at Nantasket Beach in Hull. Thousands of volunteers throughout Massachusetts turn out each year for this event, which is part of an international campaign organized by The Ocean Conservancy in Washington, DC. Participants all over the world collect marine debris and record what they find. This information is then used to help reduce future marine debris problems.
