Job Opportunity: Sea Grant Education Program Leader, Oregon

Oregon State University Sea Grant is recruiting for a 12-month, full time fixed-term Sea Grant Extension Education Program Leader. This position provides program leadership, development, and management of Oregon Sea Grants (OSG) marine education programs and visitor services at the Hatfield Marine Science Center (HMSC) Visitor Center in Newport, Oregon.  As an integrated element of OSG this position is responsible for the development and management of the HMSC Visitor Center, bookstore, visitor services, K-12 education leading learning development, public programming, and aquarium support.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in education and no less than 3 years leadership and management of informal science education programs, projects and facilities housing public exhibits. Demonstrated success in grant writing, resource and partnership development, supervising and motivating staff, building teams, and promoting and enhancing diversity. Salary commensurate to education and experience.

Job Opening:Education Specialist, Oregon

The Oregon Coast Aquarium’s Education Department is seeking an energetic and highly-creative person for the position of Education Specialist. The primary responsibilities of the ES II will include the development and implementation of education outreach programs to schools both locally and statewide; the development of summer programs for children; and the facilitation of live animal encounters. The position will require the individual to keep and maintain schedules, meet deadlines and efficiently manage resources including adult volunteers. Excellent organizational and time-management skills are a must. A bachelor’s degree and experience in the areas of informal education, ocean studies and marine conservation preferred.
